- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 4 tbsp butter salted
- 1/4 tsp salt
In a small sauce pan over low heat, combine heavy whipping cream and vanilla. Heat until just warm, then remove from heat and set aside.
In a large fry pan, over medium heat, combine sugar and water. Stir together.
Contine to cook without stirring until the sugar starts to turn amber. About 10-12 minutes.
Once it turns amber, add heavy whipping cream (a little at a time) and whisk until mixture is smooth about 2-3 minutes.
Remove pan from heat. Whisk in butter and salt until incorporated.
Let cool for about 10-15 minutes before using.
Pour leftovers into a heat-safe container with a lid. Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
To reheat just pop it in the microwave, heat at 20 second intervals and stir. Pour and use!
