- 1/4 cup salted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup vegetable shortening
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 3/4 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees
Using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, beat the butter and vegetable shortening
Add granulated sugar and beat
Add packed brown sugar and beat
Pour in vanilla and beat
Drop in eggs, one at a time, beating after each, wipe down sides
Put all dry ingredients together (flour, baking soda, salt) and add to mixing bowl, beat until combined
Stir in chocolate chips
Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop scoops onto cookie sheet 3 inches apart
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes
Let cool for 1-2 minutes on cookie sheet before moving to wire rack
Cool completely
