Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake

  • Stand or hand mixer

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/3 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp cornstarch
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Prepare a 10 inch cake pan, line with parchment paper and spray sides with baking spray with flour.
  • In a stand or hand mixer, cream butter, shortening and sugars until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and beat.
  • Add eggs and beat until combined.
  • Add dry ingredients: flour, cornstarch, salt and baking soda and beat until combined.
  • Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Add batter to the prepared cake pan and spread to the outer edges.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes, until the edges are golden brown.
  • Let cool completely in pan before removing.
  • Frost and decorate with buttercream frosting. Cut, serve and enjoy!
