Festive Halloween M&M Cookies

- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup Halloween M&Ms
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a stand mixer with a paddle attachment, cream the butter and vegetable shortening. Add brown sugar, sugar and vanilla and beat until light and creamy.
Drop in eggs, one at a time and beat after each addition.
In a large mixing bowl, combine, flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking soda and salt.
Add dry ingredients to the mixing bowl and beat until combined.
Using a cookie scoop, place a scoop of cookie into your hands and roll into a ball. Place on the cookie sheet. Add M&Ms to the top of each cookie scoop.
Bake for 9-11 minutes. Take out of the oven and let sit on the cookie sheet for about 1-2 minutes. Remove to a wire rack and let cool completely. Note-some of the M&Ms may crack while cooling.
