Simple Homemade Mac & Cheese
This Simple Homemade Mac & Cheese has only 7 ingredients but packs a lot of creamy, cheesy, delicious flavor. Great as a main or as a side to your favorite dish.

- 16 oz elbow macaroni
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup flour
- 4 cups milk
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper
- 4 cups extra sharp cheddar cheese Cracker Barrel
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In a large quart sized pan, cook elbow macaroni according to the package directions. Drain. Add one tbsp of butter to the cooked pasta and mix together. Put the macaroni into a large casserole dish.
In a large sauté pan, melt the butter over medium heat.
In a mixing bowl, add flour. Whisk a cup of milk with the flour. Keep whisking and add the remainder of the milk.
Pour mixture into the sauté pan. Add salt and pepper.
Over medium heat, melt the cheddar cheese, stirring constantly, until thick and creamy.
Pour cheese mixture over the cooked pasta and mix together.
Bake for 15-20 minutes or until bubbling.
Serve and enjoy!
