Easy Candied Walnuts

These Easy Candied Walnuts take just a few minutes to make and are delicious! Great salad topper or snack!

Equipment

  • Small mixing bowl
  • small frying pan

Ingredients
  

  • 3 tbsp dark brown sugar packed
  • 3 tsp water
  • 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup walnuts

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, combine dark brown sugar, water, vanilla and salt.
  • Over medium heat, add the walnuts to the frying pan and toast for 2-3 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent burning. You'll know when they are done because you will smell a nutty aroma.
  • Add the sugar mixture to the pan. Stir until all the walnuts are coated, about 15 seconds.
  • Remove from heat and spread walnuts on parchment paper to cool.
  • Once cooled, if needed break nuts apart. Place in an airtight container.
  • Eat as a snack or add to your salad and enjoy!
