Grilled Sesame Tuna with Soy Glaze

Equipment

  • Grill
  • Sauce Pan

Ingredients
  

  • 24 oz Tuna (Sushi grade)
  • 1/3 cup Low Sodium Soy Sauce
  • 1/3 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup Sesame Seeds
  • Sea Salt (Kosher salt can be substituted)
  • Black Pepper
  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil

Instructions
 

  • Heat the grill to high heat or for direct grilling method
  • In a small sauce pan combine soy sauce and sugar and heat of medium low heat
  • Once sauce begins to simmer turn to low and stir occasionally
  • Season both sides of the tuna with salt, pepper and olive oil
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on tuna to cover
  • Place tuna on grill for 1 minute
  • Turn tuna and grill for 1 more minute
  • Remove tuna from grill
  • Slice tuna into thin strips against the grain
  • Remove soy glaze from heat and place in small bowls or drizzle over tuna and serve
