This Easy Nutritious Cherry Peach Smoothie can be whipped up in just 5 minutes and makes a great snack or light breakfast.
I always keep an assortment of frozen fruits in the freezer just for smoothies. Frozen fruits work really well in smoothies because they keep the smoothie thick and cold.
Cherries are fantastic in smoothies and are readily available all year round in the frozen fruit section of your grocery store. Low in calories but rich in nutrients, vitamins & minerals, such as vitamin C, potassium, iron, zinc, copper and magnesium makes cherries a nutrition powerhouse. Cherries are also high in natural anit-inflammatories. So if you are exercising, this smoothie makes a nice recovery drink.
Simple Tips for Making the Best Smoothies
Although there is really no wrong way to make smoothies, here are some simple tips!
- Use a good blender. If you are going to be making a lot of smoothies or other things that require use of a blender then invest in a good one. They are worth the money! The better blenders are more durable and hold up much better, especially when blending frozen fruits. Many of them are also designed to fold the ingredients back into the center, making for a smoother and faster blend. We use this Vitamix blender.
- Put a banana in your smoothie. Using a banana adds the sweet flavor to your smoothie. It is also the perfect base that helps to make your smoothie creamy and delicious!
- Stock up on frozen fruit. Whether you buy fresh fruit and then freeze or buy pre-packaged frozen fruit, keep your freezer stocked. It’s a great way to provide your kids with a nutritious snack before school. (My daughter is not a big fan of breakfast but loves to drink a smoothie in the morning).
- Be creative! Experiment with different types of fruit combinations, add in some mix-ins, etc. You never know what new creation might be a huge hit!

Add fruit, yogurt, milk and blend well. If using frozen fruit, put the milk and yogurt in first, otherwise the fruit may turn into a frozen ball that is difficult to blend. Start blender on low, increase speed as fruit blends in. Once mixed, blend on high for 30 seconds.
