As a kid, my mom made these Chocolate Fudge Brownies all the time for my dad because he loved them. Plain and simple, these brownies are ridiculously delicious! The best way I can describe them, is that they are a cross between chocolate fudge and a brownie. To sum it up, if you bake them just until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out almost clean, then there is no denying it, these brownies are going to blow you away!

My daughter Sammie always asks me to make these chocolate fudge brownies for her birthday. They are easy to make and you can turn them into a fun, festive birthday cake.
Or use them for the BEST hot fudge brownie sundae. Just cut a nice base, add some vanilla ice cream, smother with hot fudge and top it off with some whipped cream and a cherry. Yum!
What ingredients do I need for Chocolate Fudge Brownies?
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup vegetable shortening, melted
- 4 oz unsweetened baking chocolate, melted
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- baking spray with flour
How do I make Chocolate Fudge Brownies?
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray pan with baking spray with flour or grease well with vegetable shortening. Set aside.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the vegetable shortening. Set aside too cool.
- In a small sauce pan over low heat, melt the unsweetened chocolate. Set aside too cool.
- Using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment or a hand mixer, beat the eggs and add the sugar slowly.
- Pour in the pure vanilla extract and melted vegetable shortening and beat until combined.
- Add melted chocolate and beat until smooth.
- Add flour, salt and milk and beat until combined and smooth.
- Pour into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out mostly clean.
- Cool for about 15 minutes and then frost. Frosting will be shinnier if you frost brownies while they are warm.
- Cut into bars and serve. Add vanilla ice cream if desired.
