With just one sip of this Coconut Margarita you’ll be instantly transported to your favorite beach destination. Sweet, tart and heavenly!
For some reason this Coconut Margarita looks like a cocktail that is begging to be served around the Christmastime. Maybe because it’s white in color and the coconut rim reminds me of snow. And Christmastime is the ONLY time I like a little snow. When I mean a little, it means a dusting, no more than and inch! Just enough to make the trees look pretty outside, giving it that Christmasy vibe. However, once the holidays are over bring on summer! Unfortunately, living in New England summer takes its time to get here.
However, you can bring summer instantly back with just one sip of this delicious coconut margarita! Why wait for summer to get here before you indulge? Enjoy it now and while you listen to “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire” pretend you’re roasting on your favorite beach somewhere. Cheers!
What you’ll love about this margarita
It’s a tropical spin on the classic margarita! I enjoy the classic margarita but why not change it up a bit and add a little coconut to the mix? In addition to the classic ingredients: lime juice, simple syrup and tequila, just add a little coconut rum and cream of coconut. Yum!
It’s a perfect cocktail that can be enjoyed any time of the year! While you may think this cocktail is mostly enjoyed in the summer don’t be so skeptical. Serve it up anytime you need a little tropical getaway!
It’s quick and easy to make! With only a few ingredients, this cocktail can be whipped up within a few minutes. Don’t worry, you’ll have a beverage in hand quickly!
It’s pretty and looks as good as it tastes! I don’t know about you but I eat/drink with my eyes. I like a good looking drink and this one fits the bill. In addition, it’s bursting with coconut flavor, which I love. However, watch out! It goes down way too easily!
What kind of tequila should I use?
There are two types of tequilas that are traditionally used in a margarita: blanco (aka silver), minimally or un-aged tequila or reposado, a high-proof tequila that is aged in oak for a period of two to twelve months.
According to Liquor.com the best tequila for margaritas is Roca Patrón Silver that will run you about $40. However, if you are looking for a budget friendly option they suggest Espolòn Blanco that is about $17. For the following margarita we used Milagro Silver Tequila that is about $32.
