Homemade Apple Hand Pies
These Homemade Apple Hand Pies are fun to eat! Flaky all butter crust, homemade apple sauce filling, topped off with sweet vanilla frosting make these treats irresistible!

- 1 double crust pie shell
- 1 cup applesauce
- 2 tbsp butter melted for the top of the pie
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
If using homemade pie crust, roll out the pie crust. If using a prepared pie crust, allow the crust to come to room temperature, remove from package and set on a lighlty floured board.
Using a 4 inch food ring or glass cut out 12 circles.
Drop one teaspoon of applesauce into the center of the pie curst circle. Fold the circle in half. Use a fork to crimp the edges shut.
Melt 2 tbsp of butter. Brush butter on the tops of the hand pies.
Bake on a parchment lined baking sheet for 12-15 minutes or until browned.
Remove and place pies on a wire rack. Cool completely.
Frost with vanilla icing. Refrigerate in an air tight container for up to 3 days or freeze in a freezer bag for up to 3 months.
