Cupcakes

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • In a stand mixer using the paddle attachment (or hand mixer), beat butter, sugar and pure vanilla extract.
  • Add egg whites, sour cream and milk and beat until combined.

  • Fill cupcake liners a little more than halfway full.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Frosting/Decorating the Turkey Cupcakes

  • In a mixing bowl, add butter, powdered sugar, pure vanilla extract and milk and beat until smooth and creamy.
  • Put frosting in the bag. Using the star tip, add frosting starting from the outside edge, working your way into the center.
  • Place 5 candy corn, in a half circle, on top of the cupcake. Place in the refrigerator.
  • While cupcakes are in the refrigerator, make 3/4 of the remaining frosting brown and 1/4 orange.
  • Using the large round tip, pipe on the brown frosting in a small circle.
  • Using your edible black marker, place two eyes on the yellow Reece's Pieces or M&Ms candy.
  • Place the yellow candy on the brown frosting. Using the writer tip, add a small dot of orange frosting for the beak.
  • Add a heart sprinkle, upside down, at the base of the yellow candy.
  • Serve and enjoy!
  • Note: Store cupcakes in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Placing the cupcakes in the refrigerator will dry them out faster. However, refrigeration may be required if buttercream or candy corn starts to get too soft.
