Ingredients

Rib Rub

  • 1 Rack Baby back pork ribs 2-2.5 lbs.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp dark chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin

Asian Sauce

  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce low sodium
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic crushed or finely chopped
  • 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
  • Remove the white membrane from the underside of the ribs. Use a sharp knife to get under the membrane to expose a corner. Grab exposed corner with paper towel and pull the membrane off. It will often come off in one piece.
  • In a small bowl combine Rib Rub ingredients and thoroughly mix.
  • Coat the both sides of the ribs with the rib rub patting it onto the ribs.
  • Place the ribs on a baking sheet meat side up. Cover tightly with foil.
  • Bake for 2 hours covered until ribs are tender, check to see if meat is slightly pulling away from the bone. Cook an additional 15-30 minutes if not tender.
  • While the ribs are baking combine Asian Sauce ingredients in a sauce pan and whisk together.
  • Bring to a low simmer and simmer for 10-15 minutes until slightly thickened. Let cool, it will continue to thicken as it cools.
  • When the ribs are done, remove the foil and turn broiler on high. Brush the Asian Sauce on the ribs and broil until the sauce starts to bubble. Brush on more sauce and broil again for 2-3 minutes, until bubbling again.
  • For additional garnish add sesame seeds and thinly sliced green onions.
  • Serve and enjoy!
