This Boozy Blueberry Lemonade Slushie is so refreshing and delicious! Made with frozen blueberries, vodka and lemonade mix it takes just a few minutes in the blender. A perfect summer drink!
Summer screams lemonade! When it’s blazing hot outside, many of us pour ourselves a large glass of lemonade to quench our thirst! This Boozy Blueberry Lemonade Slushie is made with only three ingredients. Frozen blueberries, lemonade mix and vodka.
I love experimenting with mixing up a good drink! For this week’s summer cocktail series I decided to make a slushie with a little kick for the adults to enjoy! Kids can enjoy this slushie too, just eliminate the booze! The best drinks are ones that only take a few minutes to whip up and this slushie takes about 3 minutes from start to finish.
Grab your blender and let’s get started…
Simple Tips for Making the Best Slushie
- Use Frozen Fruit- I buy fresh fruit, wash, dry, and then freeze. Buying fresh then freezing will help to ensure your slushie gets optimal flavor! However, there are so many good brands in the frozen section of the grocery store. Frozen fruits are key to help keep the drink thick and cold. If you don’t use frozen fruit, your slushie will be watery and thin!
- Use a good blender- I use the Vitamix Professional Series blender. Invest in a good blender. They are worth the money! The better blenders are more durable and hold up much better, especially when blending frozen fruits and ice. Many of them are also designed to fold the ingredients back into the center, making a smoother and faster blend.
- Don’t Blend for Too Long- running your blender too long can create a thin, runny beverage. When making the best slushie, blend just enough to get a smooth, slushie consistency. The perfect slushie is blended, smooth and thick!
- Start the Blender on Low- always start the blender on low or give it a few pulses to break up the ingredients. Not only does this help to create a perfect, thick consistency, it also helps to preserve your blender blades.
Boozy Blueberry Lemonade Slushie-Ingredients
Blueberries, vodka, lemonade, ice, water.
- Frozen Blueberries-I used fresh blueberries. Washed, dried and frozen.
- Lemonade mix- Use your favorite lemonade mix. My kids always drink pink lemonade so for this drink I used Country Time Pink Lemonade mix. However, any lemonade mix will do.
- Vodka- My go to liquor in most cocktails is vodka. I like all kinds but my favorite is Tito’s or Grey Goose. However, since you are putting it in slushie, a less expensive vodka is fine too!
Instructions
- Add frozen blueberries, water, ice, lemonade mix and vodka to a blender.
- Start the blender on low. Once the fruit and ice start to break up, turn the blender on high.
- Blend for about 20-30 seconds until you have reached a smooth consistency.
- Pour into a glass. Top with frozen blueberries.
- Cheers! Enjoy!
