This Butterball Hot Chocolate will warm your insides up quickly! It’s a decadent, dessert cocktail that’s perfect for those winter holidays!
People love our Simple Butterball Cocktail so we decided to put a new spin on it. Mix up your favorite hot chocolate and add Bailey’s and Butterscotch Schnapps and take it up a notch. It’s chocolatey, buttery, creamy and so smooth!
If you have never had Bailey’s Irish Cream, you are missing out. The makers wanted to make something blending two things Ireland is famous for, dairy cream and Irish Whiskey. In their own words “It took two years of trial and error but by 1974 we had added the finest spirits, rich chocolate and vanilla flavors (with some other flavors and ingredients) along with a little magic, to create the Baileys recipe we now know and love.”
The German term schnapps refers to any strong alcoholic beverage. Butterscotch is a blend of butter and brown sugar. Combine the two and you have butterscotch schnapps. The most famous brand is Buttershots that is produced by De Kuyper in The Netherlands. This alcohol is made from Jamaican rum and spirits, flavored with vanilla and butterscotch.
Butterscotch schnapps is delicious on its own but combined with Bailey’s it’s a great after dinner drink! Put it on the rocks like we did in our famous Butterball Cocktail or serve it up in your hot chocolate and experience a whole new world!
Butterball Hot Chocolate-Ingredients
Hot chocolate mix, butterscotch schnapps, Bailey’s Irish Cream, milk, (whipped cream, chocolate syrup and mini-chocolate chips-optional).
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, over medium heat, warm milk and whisk in your favorite hot chocolate.
- Bring to a simmer.
- Remove from heat and pour into a mug.
- Add Bailey’s and Butterscotch schnapps and stir.
- Garnish with whipped cream, chocolate syrup and mini-chocolate chips.
