Down at the Cape, we love spending time with family and friends, beverage in hand and eating great food. As always, this martini reminds us of the Cape and beautiful summer days. Smooth, delicious, and fruity is a great way to describe this favorite martini of ours. Trust me, it’s way too easy going down! This Cape Cod Martini is a great introduction to happy hour.
Who doesn’t love a good happy hour? After spending the day basking in the sun, or like me under the umbrella (for God’s sake it’s too hot!) we enjoy going back to the house for cocktail hour. Before we know it, a spread is created. Cheese and crackers, little grilled sausages, and our favorite baked chili cheese dip line the table out on the deck. Lastly, we mix up some drinks and enjoy pre-dinner cocktails before we head off to one of our favorite restaurants. Surprisingly, we have many favorites!
As a matter of fact, this Cape Cod Martini was created by my husband trying to figure out the perfect ratios of alcohol. After the fifth or maybe it was the sixth, he thinks he finally mastered it. In fact, it could have been the alcohol talking, or slurring, we are not quite sure. However, either way, we feel this martini is the perfect combination of flavors. Plus it is fun, fruity, sexy, sassy and delicious! Just look at it, doesn’t it look good?
I know you want to try it right now…what are you waiting for? Trust us, it’s too good not to try!
Grab your large martini shaker. Pour in the alcohol and let sit for 2 minutes. Shake well and pour into your favorite, large martini, glass. Squeeze in your lime wedge and drop in two maraschino cherries.
