Great White Shark Cocktail

Celebrate Shark Week with this fun and easy Great White Shark Cocktail. Don’t dive too deep and watch out for what lies beneath!

Vodka, white cranberry, Cointreau, grenadine syrup, lime, gummy shark and lime wedge

Every year in either July or August, the Discovery Channel launches a weeklong grouping of shark-related shows, documentaries, and movies. Shark Week first premiered on July 17, 1988. It was originally intended to promote conservation efforts and correcting misconceptions about sharks. Over time, its popularity grew and has become a huge hit for the Discovery Channel. Shows are interesting, informational and sometimes gruesome! The documentaries on survivors of shark attacks are among my personal favorite! In addition, Jim and I especially love “Josh Gates Tonight” and his fun Shark Week shows, including last year’s episode that inspired the Electric Shark Cocktail. The 2021 Shark Week started on July 11th. As we conclude this year’s Shark Week, we bring you this fun and easy Great White Shark Cocktail to enjoy. Remember, don’t dive too deep and beware of what lies beneath!

Vodka, white cranberry, Cointreau, grenadine syrup, lime

Instructions

  1. Fill your cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Add vodka, white cranberry, Cointreau, lime juice. I like to let the ingredients sit for a minute or two too ensure a nice cold cocktail. Then shake well.
  3. Pour into martini glass.
  4. If you want to get into the action and add a little “blood” to this cocktail. Add about 1/2-1 teaspoon of grenadine syrup to the glass. The grenadine will sink to the bottom creating a trail of “blood.”
  5. Garnish with a lime wedge and a gummy shark!
  6. Cheers!
