Simple Maple Balsamic Dressing

This homemade Simple Maple Balsamic Dressing has an intense but sweet flavor making it a great dressing for any salad!

Importance of Ingredients

When preparing any food, the higher the quality of ingredients, the better the final product. This is very important, especially for dressing, since it is a highlight of what you are eating. When it comes to maple syrup, only use pure maple syrup. If you are thinking of using a popular high fructose corn syrup with maple flavoring, STOP. Just don’t do it.

My grandparents had a dairy farm in Dover Plains, NY. The adjacent farm was owned by the Soukup family. While my grandparents farm was sold in the 1980’s, the Soukup Farm is still thriving.

Here’s a little bit about the farm: “Soukup Farms is a third generation family farm, producing and selling pure New York Maple Syrup. Started as a hobby in the early 1950’s the operation expanded to 800 taps in the 1990’s and today has more than 3,000 taps in three sugarbushes. With a renewed interest in the maple production process the third generation of syrup producers has moved to a new sugarhouse and is actively expanding the business.”

If you are looking for wonderful pure maple syrup and want to support farmers, I highly recommend ordering some today from Soukup Farms. We used it for this salad dressing and hope you do too!

The other key ingredients in this dressing are balsamic vinegar and olive oil. When we lived in downtown Boston, we would frequent the Boston Olive Oil Company. Even though we have moved to the suburbs we stop by whenever we are in the city or just order it online. If you are looking for some wonderful Olive Oils and Vinegars then you should definitely try them out.

So give this Simple Maple Balsamic Dressing a whirl, you won’t be disappointed! You can use it on any salad but it is especially good in salads that contain fruit. Better yet, try it on our Pear and Goat Cheese Salad with Candied Walnuts.
