My brother-in-law is quite the character! He’s extremely funny, energetic, friendly, and very animated. He loves girly drinks but doesn’t like to broadcast to the whole restaurant that he was the one who ordered it. So he loves this white cranberry cosmo. It has the sweet and delicious flavors of the red cranberry cosmo without the pink color.

History of the Cosmo

Although it is often debated, Toby Cecchini, of the Odeon in Manhattan is the most recognized creator of the Cosmo. According to Kyle Ford, a rep for Cointreau, Toby put a fresh spin on the South Beach and San Francisco versions that used Rose’s Lime Cordial. Toby instead, used Absolut Citron, Cointreau, cranberry juice and fresh lime juice to make up his version of the Cosmo. Today he is credited with this modern day Cosmo.

However, it wasn’t until the airing of the very popular Sex in the City, staring Sarah Jessica Parker that the Cosmo became a very popular and iconic drink in both bars and restaurants around the country. Working women as well as men enjoyed the Cosmo because of its sexy and sophisticated look.

White Cranberry Cosmo

On the other hand, this delicious white cranberry cosmo combines vodka, Cointreau, fresh lemon juice and Ocean Spray white cranberry juice. Give it a try because not only does it go down easy you’ll want one or several to end the work week.

Instructions

Put ice and water in a martini glass to chill while preparing. Set aside. Put all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled half way with ice. Shake well. Empty the ice and water out of the martini glass you had set aside. Strain into the chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon slice. Cheers!

Equipment

• Cocktail Shaker
• Martini Glass
• Lemon squeezer (optional)

Ingredients

  

• 2 oz vodka
• 3 oz white cranberry juice
• 3/4 oz Cointreau
• 3/4 oz fresh lemon juice

Instructions

 

• Fill martini glass with ice and water. Set aside.
• Combine all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker half full of ice. Shake well.
• Empty the ice and water out of the martini glass you had set aside. Strain into the chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon slice.
