With just one bite, you are going to love this Chocolate Skillet Brownie.  It’s rich, decadent, chocolatey, fudgy and best of all it’s so easy to make!  Whip it up, pour it into a skillet and bake. The edges of this brownie skillet are a little crunchy but the inside is chewy and gooey!  I love making brownies but I love making this Chocolate Skillet Brownie even more.  This dessert is great for birthdays, Valentine’s Day, sleepovers, cookouts and whenever you need a quick chocolate fix! What ingredients do I need for Chocolate Skillet Brownie?

  • 4 oz unsweetened Baker’s chocolate (melted)
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar (packed)
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (1/4 cup to sprinkle on top)
  • 1/2 tsp Kosher salt (optional to sprinkle on the top)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Spray a skillet with baking spray with flour. Set aside. 
  • In a small sauce pan, melt the unsweetened chocolate. Set aside to cool.
  • Whisk together flour, unsweetened cocoa and salt. Set aside. 
  • Using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment or hand mixer beat butter, granulated sugar and dark brown sugar until light and creamy.
  • Add eggs and pure vanilla extract and beat until combined.
  • Beat in flour mixture until incorporated and smooth.
  • Stir in semi-sweet chocolate chips. 
  • Pour mixture into prepared skillet. Top with remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips.  Sprinkle 1/2 tsp Kosher salt (optional) on top.
  • Bake for 20-24 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean. 
  • Serve warm, top with ice cream, hot fudge and toppings if desired.

Tips and tricks for best results

  • Use a 10-inch oven safe skillet.
  • Spray the skillet with baking spray with flour to ensure easy removal and non-sticking.
  • Do not over bake. Insert a toothpick in the center and if it comes out mostly clean it’s done. This way you’ll get a nice gooey brownie.
