A perfect pairing of salty and sweet! This Salted Caramel Martini is so creamy and hard to resist. Tastes just like a caramel!
If you love caramel then you’ve got to try this Salted Caramel Martini. Unlike most dessert martinis that can be too sweet (is there such a thing?), the salty rim and inside balances out the sweet and creamy caramel, giving this martini that insanely delicious taste.
To make this martini really interesting, garnish the rim with caramel topping then lightly salt with Kosher salt. This will give each sip that perfect combination of salty and sweet. In addition, I also drizzled caramel on the inside of the glass and added a little more salt. Be creative, there’s no wrong way to dress up the glass. I swirled my caramel around the glass and also added a square caramel to the edge of the glass. A nice little treat to eat at the end! Once done, place your glass in the freezer for about 5-10 minutes, to set the caramel.
While the prepared martini glass is chilling in the freezer, add your booze to a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into your prepared glass and serve! Cheers!

Tips and Tricks for Decorating the Martini Glass
- Use a thick caramel topping. I had some Mrs. Richardson’s Caramel Topping in the refrigerator that I used for this martini. I also like Smucker’s Caramel Topping or you can make my Easy Homemade Caramel Sauce if you don’t have any already in your pantry.
- Make sure you work quickly when rimming and decorating the inside of your glass.
- Use about a 1/2 teaspoon of caramel to decorate the inside of the glass. Hold the spoon about 6-10 inches above the glass and let the caramel drip. To create a spiral of caramel, rotate the glass and the caramel drips onto the glass. Remember, there’s no wrong way to do this, so don’t fret!
Liqueur Substitutions
- Don’t have Bailey’s? Then try another brand of Irish Cream Liqueur or RumChata.
- Use Vanilla Vodka for a sweeter drink.
- Don’t have Butterscotch Schnapps? Use caramel syrup instead.
- Don’t have half and half? Use heavy cream or milk instead.
