Puff pastry dessert with fruit, ice cream and apples

Looking for an easy fall dessert? With just a handful of ingredients, you’ll be enjoying this Simple Apple Tart in less than an hour. Use store bought puff pastry instead of making your own and save time. Simply thaw, cut, and bake. Watch the dough transform right in front of your eyes!

What is Puff Pastry?

Puff pastry is a light and flaky pastry dough that is used in a variety of recipes. It’s made from a laminated dough, which simply means that the butter is folded into the dough numerous times to create very thin, alternating layers of butter and dough. Thus the reason it puffs up nicely and has a great flaky texture. Butter, salt, water and flour are the only ingredients needed to make puff pastry. As you can see, there is no need for any leavening agents. While many people opt to make puff pastry from scratch, it’s pretty time consuming and labor intensive. Save time, and use the store-bought version. I sure did and this tart is fantastic!
