This salad is great for Memorial Day, Fourth of July or Labor Day!
Summer screams berries! Sweet strawberries and blueberries are the ones most associated with summer and summer holidays. This Simple Red, White & Blue Salad is great for holiday BBQs and summer get togethers!
First, I start off this salad with a bed of spinach. Spinach is mild, sweet and tender, making it great for salads. In addition, spinach is very healthy because it is loaded with nutrients and antioxidents. For the RED, I add in strawberries. Strawberries pair well with spinach. It’s a great combination. For the BLUE, I add in juicy blueberries. Blueberries are low in calories and high in nutrients too! For the WHITE, I add in goat cheese crumbles. Goat cheese is creamy and tart and pairs nicely with the sweet berries. Lastly, to end this perfect combination of sweet, creamy and tart, I threw in some honey roasted almond slices because I like a little crunch!
What dressing should I use?
For this salad, I used our Simple Maple Balsamic Dressing. The acidity of the balsamic pairs well with the sweetness of the strawberries. Plus, the addition of the maple syrup adds great flavor! However, use any dressing you like!
