Easy Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

This is the easiest dinner recipe you’ll ever make! Add pork and barbecue sauce to your slow cooker and set it and forget it!

Short on time? Don’t know what to make?

Countless times, I have no idea what to make for dinner! (So looks like it’s a slow cooker pulled pork night) My days are filled teaching fitness classes and my nights? I am a glorified UBER driver who makes no money! Once 3 o’clock hits, and the kids are home, it’s a mad dash to get them a snack and out the door for after school activities. Sound familiar? Don’t fret, I’ve got the easiest recipe for slow cooker pulled pork ever.

Methods to making pulled pork

There are many methods to making pulled pork. My husband loves to put it on the grill and smoke a pork butt. While unbelievably delicious, that can take up to 10 hours! Thus, the only chance we have for that delicious meal is on the weekend. Some people bake it, but my husband says “you’ll just end up with a dry, and stringy mess.” I’ve baked pork chops before and it’s not exactly a fan favorite in my house. You could also braise the pork in a dutch oven, but that’s time consuming too. You can’t just leave the burner on unattended. Actually, let me rephrase that, you shouldn’t leave the burner on unattended.

How to Freeze Meats

I have three freezers in my house, so I am usually stocked up with meats. Freezing meat is easy. Individually wrap with cling wrap and store in a freezer bag for up to 6 months. The USDA recommends up to a year. I am sure, on occasion, I’ve used meats that old. However, I try to use my meats within 6 months.

After about 4-5 hours the meat should be tender enough to easily pull apart with two forks. If not, cook a little longer.
