In this blog post, we will explore the wonderful world of Sleepover Party Baked Vanilla Donuts, from understanding the key ingredients to step-by-step instructions on preparing these scrumptious treats.
Understanding the Ingredients
To embark on the journey of creating these delectable donuts, let’s first gather the necessary ingredients. You’ll need all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, milk, eggs, melted butter, and pure vanilla extract. It’s important to use high-quality ingredients to achieve the best results. Flour provides structure, while baking powder helps the donuts rise. Milk, eggs and butter add moisture and creaminess, and the star of the show, pure vanilla extract, infuses the donuts with that classic and comforting vanilla flavor.
Infusing Vanilla Flavor!
The key to achieving an exceptional vanilla flavor in your donuts lies in the choice of vanilla extract. Opt for pure vanilla extract instead of artificial alternatives for an authentic and rich taste. Alternatively, you can experiment with vanilla bean seeds for an extra burst of flavor. Split open a vanilla bean and scrape out the seeds, then mix them into the batter before baking. The aromatic notes of real vanilla will elevate your donuts to the next level.
Sleepover Party Baked Vanilla Donuts-Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 4 tbsp salted butter (melted)
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup milk
- baking spray with flour
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Spray 2 donut pans with baking spray with flour.
- Using a stand mixer with a paddle attachment or a hand mixer, beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add vanilla and the melted butter and beat until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and baking powder. Add 1/2 of the dry ingredients and 1/2 of the milk to the bowl and beat. Add in the other 1/2 of the dry ingredients and the rest of the milk and beat until you get a smooth, silky batter. If the batter seems really thick, then add 1 or 2 tbsp of milk to thin out the batter slightly.
- Spoon batter into donut pans. For donuts with holes, I use a piping bag and pipe in batter in a circular motion about 2/3 full. For donuts with no holes, fill the pan 2/3 of the way full (don’t worry if the hole is covered, this will give you a more surface area to frost! Kid pleaser!)
- Bake 12-15 minutes or until donuts start to brown around the edges and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Remove donuts and let cool in the pan for about 5 minutes.
- Then move to a wire rack and let cool completely.
- Frost, decorate, giggle and eat!!!
- Enjoy!
Decorating the Sleepover Party Baked Vanilla Donuts!
Now comes the fun part—decorating the donuts! After the donuts have cooled, it’s time to get creative. You can prepare a simple glaze by mixing powdered sugar with a splash of milk and vanilla extract. Dip the tops of the donuts into the glaze and add a few colorful sprinkles for an eye-catching touch. If you prefer a richer flavor, try a chocolate or maple glaze. For a healthier option, a dusting of powdered sugar or a light drizzle of honey can also do the trick. However, for a rich and thick frosting try this Easy Vanilla Frosting. You can also let the kids do the decorating! Spoon frosting into individual bowls and let the fun, and a little mess, begin!
