Crescent Roll Meatball Bites

My daughter’s field hockey season wrapped with a banquet for the seniors and I had made one of my favorite bar cookies, Graham Cracker Bars for the occasion. During one of the last games, a mom asked me for the recipe. While we were talking, she told me that I had to try these Crescent Roll Meatball Bites and I have finally gotten around to it. They are not only easy, they are a great side to serve with a pasta dinner, and/or great appetizer for your next party or game day gathering. They are packed with flavor and lots of cheesy goodness!

How do I make Crescent Roll Meatball Bites?

Crescent Roll Meatball Bites are so easy to make! There’s just a few simple ingredients you will need. One 8 oz can of crescent rolls, 4 oz of cream cheese, 1 packet of dry Italian seasoning, mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce and some frozen meatballs. You can use homemade meatballs too if you prefer. However, if you want to cut down on the time it takes to make these meatball bites, use the frozen ones.

Microwave meatballs according to package directions. Set aside. Spray a muffin pan with baking spray with flour. Press the crescent rolls into the cups. Beat the cream cheese, Italian seasoning and stir in some mozzarella. Spoon in the cream cheese mixture, add the meatball and top with marinara sauce and some more mozzarella cheese. Bake in a preheated oven set at 375 degrees for about 15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are golden brown. That’s it! Serve them as a side with your favorite pasta or as a bite-sized appetizer.

Tips to keep the Crescent Roll Meatball Bites warm after they are done

Place a ceramic or porcelain baking dish in the oven for about 15 minutes then place your meatball bites on the dish. Ceramic and porcelain retain heat so it’s a good way to keep them warm until they are gobbled up. In addition, if you entertain a lot invest in a warming tray so that your food and appetizers will stay warm all throughout the night!

What brand of meatball should I use?

Use your favorite brand if you have one. However, I prefer to use a meatball that is about 1-2 inches in diameter. This way they will fit nicely in the muffin cup and you can really load them up with sauce and cheese. I use either the Italian Style or Homestyle and here are some brands that will work well with this recipe. Cooked Perfect, Kirkland, or FarmRich or Armour.

Can I reheat these Crescent Roll Meatball Bites?

Although they taste best right out of the oven, if you have any leftovers you can reheat them. Place them on a baking sheet and warm them in the oven at 350 for about 15-20 minutes. You can microwave them too if you don’t mid the dough losing some of its crispness.
