As themed treats gain popularity during Christmas, this recipe allows you to bring the mischievous Grinch character to life in a fun and tasty way.
Who is the Grinch?
With Christmas just around the corner, you’l soon be seeing reruns of the movie, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” The Grinch, a fictional character created by children’s author and cartoonist Dr. Seuss, has been around since 1957. This funny looking green, furry, Pot-bellied creature lives in seclusion with his dog Max on a cliff overlooking the town of Whoville. The grinch, is known throughout the town to be mean-tempered, nasty and vindictive. In particular, he hates Christmas.
The Whos in contrast, are cheerful, thankful, and truly love everything about the Christmas season. Often found engaging in holiday cheer and singing and celebrating with their family and friends.
On Christmas Eve, the Grinch decides to disguise himself as Santa and breaks into the town of Whoville, stealing everything they own, destroying Christmas once and for all. However, on Christmas morning he is shocked to hear the Whos singing cheerfully and truly enjoying being with one another, despite Christmas being destroyed. It is here that he realizes the deeper meaning of Christmas. Inspired from the true magical meaning of the Christmas season, he brings back Christmas to Whoville and is invited to take part in the Whos’ Christmas Day Celebration. While the Grinch enjoys the Christmas celebration with the Whos, the Grinch’s heart, that was once considered “two sizes too small” grows “three sizes.”
